My 12-team league is considering starting a mid-season Guillotine league. Our primary league uses blind bidding for waivers, with $100 annual balance, but it seems like BBID might not be ideal for Guillotine with the amount of waiver transactions likely to take place.

What do you guys think? Any experience here for suggestions on waivers for Guillotine leagues?

We're running a basic worst to first that fires three times a week

Chopped By LuckyDog Sports is doing the same with BB (not CBB).

FYI - So far this week (thru Friday) we've have 25 players that have been waived and there's another waiver set to go down on Sunday.

I'm thinking that maybe next year, I'll change it to "rolling waivers" ?????

Rolling waivers introduces an interesting problem and approach.  The ideal place to finish is next to last every week, but if you TRY to finish low you risk being eliminated.  High risk - high reward.  The OTHER "key" is that you need to require owners to field complete valid lineups every week.  Example: going in to Sunday night or Monday game a team is finished with 78 points.  I have 79 points with my QB yet to play.  Without a required lineup I could leave the spot blank and guarantee a non-eliminated 1st pick.

I'm confused why blind bidding isn't your preferred option?  I'm thinking about starting one up soon and I think it's the ONLY option.  Worst to first would be the last option I would consider as that's not how the guillotine format works.  There is no "first", only not last.

IMO, in a guillotine league the waiver wire is far too important to do any way other than FAAB.

We use the prior weeks scoring only, not an accume.  I wouldn't THINK of usig blind bidding under these circumstances as the value of every player changes every week.  If you want to play with money management I'm happy for you.  We do with my dynasty league.  But for us the G=League is short term and the worst to first seemed optimum.  There's nothing WRONG with BB, but the inherently unstable market it just seems ... awkward.  To each their own.
