For over 25 years the PROgnosticators, (formerly the SpitBowl), has provided an avenue for Fantasy Players a way to continue playing Fantasy Football after the Regular Season, and this year is no exception.
So, you can -
- Participate in a commercial contest probably against thousands of others and pay those high League Fees or
- Suffer through the "Withdrawals" and not do anything football-related during the Playoffs or
- Compete in League managed by a dynamic 'Seasoned Commissioner" against a relatively small number of avid Fantasy Football Addicts. (Capped at 60 Teams)
Here's the basics:
- The duration of the contest is four weeks – from the Wildcard Games to the Superbowl.
- Only NFL Players from the Playoff Teams are utilized.
- Everyone can have the same Player (i.e. Tom Brady). And no, there has never has been a tie.
- Once you've selected your Roster, you're done. The software will pick your Best Staring Lineup each week.
- It's a Total Points League; no Head-2-Head.
- The Entry Fee is $21 which includes an administrative fee of $1 which covers my costs of hosting, graphics, domain, etc., (plus LeagueSafe Fees). Payment is due no later than December 29th
- All remaining monies are returned to the top ten finishers.
- Last year's Champion banked $450
- Besides points for Touchdowns, there's Performance Scoring for Passing, Rushing & Receiving yards and a 1/2 point is give for each reception plus another 1/2 point if it results in a 1st down.
- There is no IDP or any type of Player moves
- You may enter up to two teams per household, ISP, E-Mail Address, etc. - which offers you the opportunity to use different strategies in choosing a Roster.
- Currently, there are 10 openings.
One of the strategies to winning PROgnosticators is to choose NFL Players from Teams that will make it all the way to the SuperBowl and try to put together a full lineup each week. Yes, everyone might have the same Player on their Roster, but there has never been a tie.
Once your Player's NFL Team is eliminated, so is your Player. More likely than not, you won't have a full lineup for a week or two. So pick wisely
So if your Fantasy Teams(s) ended up in the dumper, you're on a winning-streak, you are a newbee, you're a Fantasy Football Fanatic. (like me), or you need to wean yourself off Football when the Regular Season is over, this could be the League for you. Besides, its a Blast !!
