I used to get so many great ideas from everyone on that thread... Why did it dry up?

That skin background (the silhouetted fans) on your site & others is awful IMO. Too stark (busy, distracting)... not subtle.
Try uploading this to a custom CSS file. Only don't hotlink to the transparent textures website. You can download the image and save it to your photobucket and use that link or you can save the image, upload it via a league article and link to it that way.
Can change the darkred to a dark gray or almost-black if you like that better too.

body {
background-color: darkred;
background-image: url(https://www.transparenttextures.com/patterns/black-orchid.png);
background-repeat: repeat;
background-size: auto;
}

quickolas1 I tested your suggested and I think it is improves the site greatly.

IMO the icons are also way too large and detracts from the actual football stuff.

Possibly limiting the size of the franchise icons would be helpful

.franchiseicon {
    max-width: 250px;
}

My MFL scripts . . . . . . . . http://www.habman.com/mfl/

Why thank you, fine sir.

And if someone wanted more subtle (Minnesota's league is dark red & black and that black orchid texture background image is for a dark background)...

one can just play around on the textures website and pick one for an off-white background...

e.g.

body {
background-color: white;
background-image: url(https://www.transparenttextures.com/patterns/noise-pattern-with-subtle-cross-lines.png);
background-repeat: repeat;
background-size: auto;
}

This one also works well on your site, Habman. But nothing wrong with your already subtle light gray, of course.

This is why the thread was awesome!

People were willing to help and offer constructive criticism.

It was nice to see how developed some of the sites were!

I haven't been a commish for any leagues for a few years but still enjoy checking everyone else's out. The 20 I'm in have either a static theme or I've chosen a stock theme and arranged the widgets how I like them.
Not really exciting.

Back for out 21st season.

I'm sorry but I have not the patience nor the talent to create a viewable website therefore, I have nothing to offer....except the name of someone who does.
