The American Fake Football Alliance (AFFA) will be going into it's 3rd season in 2021 and is looking for new owners to replace 3 previous owners who are not returning due to Covid related financial reasons. This past season, we did not charge an entry fee, instead using the 2021 non-refundable deposit money for prizes. This year, we are going back to the full yearly entry fee, which is $125 ($100 plus $25 non-refundable deposit for 2022). New incoming replacement owners will not be charged the $25 deposit this season so the total entry fee will only be $100.
The AFFA is an awesome 12 team dynasty league with active owners, most of whom have been in a league with me for many years. We are looking for 3 committed new fantasy junkies to join us for the long term. The AFFA is a H2H league with 1 point PPR scoring format on My Fantasy League (MFL). Prize payouts are as follows: $510 AFFA Champion, $200 Runner Up, $100 Conference Regular Season Winners (X2), $200 Overall Regular Season Points For (the remaining $90 will go toward the MFL site fee).
Instead of simply purchasing an orphaned franchise as a whole, replacement owners will participate in a 25 round slow email Dispersal Draft involving all of the players from the 3 orphaned teams. In a unique twist, the 2021 Rookie Draft picks themselves (from the orphaned franchises) will also be available to be drafted during the Dispersal Draft. The draft will be scheduled several weeks prior to the 3 round AFFA Rookie Draft that will likely take place in mid-late May. The draft order for the Dispersal Draft will be determined randomly and the draft will be in a snake format. New franchises will build their teams through the Dispersal and Rookie Drafts.
