Will there be problems (hiccups) if a newer version of the jquery library is loaded for custom scripts (habman's, theeohiostate's, et al.)?

<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>

in lieu of -

<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.12.0/jquery.min.js">/script>

Just asking.

There is ZERO reason to try to update the Jquery….NONE.  Unless it posses a security risk because of expired support, then maybe yes it is a need to do so.

You can swap it out and see if everything still is good to go, if you just want to try It out... Again unless it stops working or there is a breach in the software, I wouldn't be changing it out just because...  My .2 cents.

Thanks for your advice Guru.

I read thru some of the pros and cons on the net regarding upgrading to the latest version of library and have decided that unless the script developers here tell us to do so, (i.e., they are using an added feature in newer version), I'm going to leave well enough alone.
